Lost synthesizer
I have been using Musescore for several weeks - and I LOVE it. Thank you. All of a sudden, however, I lost the ability to play back the music I'd written. I clicked on display - synthesizer, and the word synthesizer is grayed out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Musesc1.0 several times, I have restarted my computer. I even downloaded the soundfont files (GeneralUser GS 1.43 FluidSynth), only to find they are still in the musescore/sound files. I'm lost.
At the same time, I lost the ability to input notes via my midi keyboard. Are they connected?
Thanks for anyone's help.

Which operating system do you run ? Mac, Windows, Linux ?
Can you check Edit -> Preferences -> I/O ? And attach a screenshot ?

I'm running Windows. When I go to Edit->Preferences-> I/O, I have reset to the original settings multiple times (and restarted, of course). I hadn't changed anything when I lost the input and output capability I mentioned. I'm not at home at my computer right now, so a screen shot is impossible. However, the Speaker icon, the midi cable input icon, the "return to the top of the score" icon and the "Play" icons are all grayed out. Everything else looks the same.
Thank you!

You can try to Revert to factory settings

Thanks for the idea. I should have mentioned that I tried that as well (reinstalled the program with a -F after the path). It didn't work, either.
Keep thinking - your ideas are really helpful. Something is bound to work.
Thank you.
