It just go on and on and on until i close the program. it continues on even if i close the tab im working with. Thanks developers.. super amazing program, that is.
Sorry, you'll have to be a lot more specific if we are to be of help. Like, post the specific score you are having problem with, list *precise* step by step instructions to reproduce the problem, also say what OS you are on, what your settings are in Edit / Preferences / I/O, and anything else that you think might be relevant if we are to reproduce the problem. I'm not even sure if you are talking about playback or MIDI input.
I am using Musescore 2.0.1 on windows 7 and I have the same problem. In PortAudio I am using Windows direct sound on I/O with the primary sound driver. When I open the piano keyboard and play a note on the keyboard, the note is sustained until I press the play key on the control panel. I am set on piano treble and sustained bass. This occurs on many of my compositions and all of the ones tht I have downloaded from Musescore. The only one I tried that worked normally was My First Score that come with the 2.0.1 version. I hope this sheds some light on the glich!
Can you [post a sp[ecific score that is giving you problems? Also, what do you mean "open the piano keyboard"? Are you talking about a MIDI keyboard or the Piano Keybaord window built in to MuseScore? Are you in note input mode when doing this? Please post *precise* steps to reproduce the problem.
Score: any score
My settings was default from the start.
Reproducing the problem: Open the Keyboard Piano(with the upper options or hotkey it will be of similar effect)>click a key on the new window popup of Keyboard Piano>sustains every key(tried 6 keys at least)
The sound of the key played would sustain until i close all scores tabs. But opening a new one would just continue the sound like it never had stopped. Note input was disabled.
OK, I can reproduce. it is *not* any score, however. It appears it must to be a score that uses an instrument capable of infinite sustain, like a wind or string instrument, and the playback has to be set to be using that staff.
1) new score for flute
2) press P to open piano keyboard
3) click a note on piano keyboard
Result: sustains infinitely
Workaround: press "Play" button to play score; this cuts of the sustaining notes before commencing playback
BTW, please don't assign yourself unless you plan to provide the fix :-)
Don't know enough to apply fix 506e5e8e51 but did discover that in the pull down menu "Ëdit" in "Instruments" , the piano had been selected twice. I don't remember doing that. When I removed one of the Piano selections, the problem with sustained keyboard notes ended!

you'd 'apply that fix' by downloading a nightly build of that or a newer version... see https://musescore.org/en/download#Nightly-versions
