Launching MuseScore 3.4.2 takes 4 - 5 minutes
On my machine (iMac 2013 running MacOS 10.15.4 (Catalina) from an external SSD), launching MuseScore takes a ridiculous amount of time, say 4 to 5 minutes. It keeps showing the splash screen with the application name during all of this time. After launching, the software runs normally and without slow down.
In Activity Monitor, Musescore is shown as unresponsive during that time.
In Console, I do not see any messages that seem applicable for MuseScore.
I hope somebody has a hint how to solve this. The software still works anyway.

Hi Shoichi, thanks for the tip. I tried but no success yet.
Did you have installed the MDL extension? If so, deinstall it and check it again.

Or just remove the Sfz files from the synthesizer settings

Hi Kuwitt, no MDL extension installed in my case. Could also not find any .sfz file on my system.
Same for me. I think this is happening because for some reason takes musescore very much time to load the MuseScore General HQ soundfont extension. I have uninstall and reinstall the extension and nothing changes at all...
If you remove it, the loading time is getting back to normal.

Loading those MDL SFZ files is known to take a while, they are huge
Large soundfonts are the only known cause of this. If you install the alpha release of MuseScore 3.5 (see Download menu, above), you can see some status information during the load that might help narrow down what is going on.
