Question
So recently I finished writing a concerto, and when it was done I enabled "Hide Empty Staves". The problem is in the second movement, I have a bunch of instruments in it from the first movement that I don't need. How do I take certain instruments out of the second movement while keeping them in the first and third? Thanks and also enjoy the piece.

If you can update:https://musescore.org/en/download
Also hide the instruments in the first System. For the third movement use the Staff properties or insert something (text or invisible and silent note) that does not identify it as empty.

I want to show all the instruments at the beginning of each movement. It's just that there are extras that I don't need to show in the second.
Sorry, I'm French, I have difficulties to understand what you really want You say "in the second movement, I have a bunch of instruments in it from the first movement that I don't need. " OK so use HIDE EMPTY STAVES but you say : " I enabled "Hide Empty Staves" ..........if you enable Hide E.S. all instruments are visible.........
" How do I take certain instruments out of the second movement while keeping them in the first and third" what do these instruments do in the first and 3rd movement, ?? are they players or are thy in silence ?

What I mean is that there are instruments left over from the first movement. There are all these instruments that are only in the first and third but not the second. So when the second movement's first page shows, it shows those instruments too. How do I take those off the first page of the second movement?

If your concern is about printing the score, create a separate 2nd movement, and remove the unnecessary instruments using menu item: Edit -> Instruments....

Thank you. I'm actually going to photograph the score and put it on YouTube with an MP3. I will do it this way. I do think there should be an easier way to do this. Maybe in a new update.

I think I might do it this way:
1. Prepare a different score for each movement just he way you want it.
2. Both Windows and Mac have built in screen record software you can use to record each separate movement. Audio is included.
3. Use video editing software to crop and combine the three movements into one mp4. You would want to crop the videos to show just the score.
None of this is particularly difficult. Even if you've never done any video editing.

If I'm understanding properly, I'd use hide empty staves normally, but then place invisible notes in the first measure of the staves I don't want to hide at the beginning of the second movement.
