insert measures not working right
i'm really having a tough time. i clicked on a measure and it highlighted, then CTR+InSER T and chose the number 4, but when i clicked on it instead of adding 4 empty measures i got a large vertical line in the middle like a fat rest with vertical lines at the end and a big number 4 on the top of the measure.
i don't know what's wrong. i have done this many times before with no problem. i don't know what is wrong or how to fix it.
i am under a lot of time pressure so these things are making writing very difficult. i bope someone is there to help with this. Thanks.

Press "M" to disable multimeasure rests. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/measure-rests#multi-measure-rest
