trouble copying

Have had no trouble copying for several months. Now whenever I try to copy I get some message telling me to use "complete tuplet/tremolo" action in order to copy a line voice line with no tuplets in it! I am trying to copy and paste the first 10 measures or so of the initial vocal line.
