prob w TAB staff underneath clef staff
I have a score in staff that I filled w dummy 1/4 notes and then toggled slash notation. I then added chords and lyrics. It is exactly what I wanted.
Now I am trying to add some TAB under measures, say, 20>end, to detail some improv.
I added unlinked TAB, copied meas 20>end into TAB, then hid unused measure.
So far just what I wanted.
But I can't edit the notes in the TAB measures. When I try to delete a 1/4 or change it to 1/8, the rests are not inserted as they are in the staff above (I did just to test). Not quite correct, I can change the pitch of the existing notes, but can't change their "time value."
What monster have I created? and how to fix so I can write normal TAB notation. BTW, I am on ver 2.0.2. Yeah I should upgrade, will when I get a new PC.

Probably not too many people who remember how to do this in 2.0.2.

I think I figured out my problem.
TAB staffs only show rests when "full" mode is chosen (rather than "simple" or "common").

That indeed is the case and has been ever since and still is
Update to at least 2.3.2, the last 2.x version.
Consider updating to 3.5.0 too
