Changing from grand staff to single staff in one document

First, thanks to all who contribute to these discussions....I'm finding solutions to challenges, and appreciate the input. Here's a question:

I use MuseScore for creating documents for music fundamentals, music theory I and II classes. If, on a single exercise page, I want one line of music to feature a grand staff for one exercise, then I want to create an exercise using only (single) treble, bass, alto clef, how would I do that? I've been successful in hiding, say a bass clef and bar lines, but I cannot hide the bracket or the entire unwanted staff.
