How to shift a note back or forward in rhythm

Sorry, this may be a very stupid question. But I'm struggling with the simple feature of dragging a note, and shift it backward or forward, to another beat. Can't find it in the manual. For example I want to grab two notes on the beats 2 and 3, and want to shift them back to beat 1 or 2. Or shift them back just an 1/8 th. Best regards, Ralf

Select them, then Cut (Ctrl+X) and paste (Ctrl+V). Same method where you are moving the notes forward one beat, forward 100 beats, backwards a beat, to another staff, to another score, etc.
