Using editor to change beam length

i used the inspector to move notes farther apart to make room for a lyric. The beam did not come with it. Is there a way to lengthen the beam? edit element only allows up or down movement.

Move the chord not the note in the inspector.

Note, though, that MuseScore should automatically make room for lyrics. If it's not, that suggests something else is wrong. If you attach a sample score, we can understand and assist better.
