It's not really clear what you mean, but see the online Handbook under Tremolo to see all the different types of tremolo that are supported.
Like this? Select the note and click the appropriate Tremolo Through Stem in the Tremolo palette. If not, please attach a picture.

However the handbook has not yet caught up with the recent enhancement which allows you to attach the tremolo strokes to the note stems like this
To achieve this, click on the strokes and then in the inspector select "All strokes attached to stems" for the Stroke style,

The notes you enter must be a minimum of 1/4 notes, select the tremolo itself and it is the Stroke Style setting that became available in 3.5.0.
