golpe/tapping

I want to put in 8 quavers (8th notes) in a row, not as notes but as golpes (taps/strikes) on the surface of the instrument. I've looked at the note heads that are available and would like to use one of these. I have experimented and tried the manual but can't find a way of changing the quavers to the note head I've chosen.
