Instrument name in software vs web
I created a score that uses a melodica as an instrument. MuseScore doesn't include this instrument, so I used a harmonica instead because it closely matches its sound. Then I went into the "Staff/Part Properties" menu to change the "Part name" and "Long instrument name" to "Melodica" instead of "Harmonica". However, when I uploaded the score online, it is listed as a harmonica instead. Is there a way to fix this? Do I have to create a new instrument as described here?

This is a question for musescore.com where you upload the score but I think there is nothing you can do about it. See https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-20657

Thanks. I was unaware of the distinction. To answer my own question, I just found out that MuseScore does in fact support the melodica. You have to choose "all instruments" in the drop-down box when selecting an instrument.

Great, I had never heard of the melodica and didn't look. I should have.
