Dynamics Apply Also to Rests
3.6 Beta Linux
I selected some measures that included both rests and notes where I wanted to apply sf only to the notes, of course. But after applying, Musescore also applied sf's to the rests. I don't think there's need for a screenshot as it is an easy bug to spot.

sf is a "special" dynamic in that sense, as other dynamic markings do make sense on rests.

But it shouldn't work like that, should it?

For plain dynamics (like piano/mf/forte) it should imho.

I didn't understand that one... sforzandi and such shouldn't be applied on rests, I mean.

For "single note dynamics" like sforzandi, this indeed doesn't make a lot of sense; and I agree that perhaps these shouldn't be applied to rests.
For normal dynamics however (like mp/mf etc) adding them to a rest can make sense, so that should remain possible. For example when a whole section goes to piano, but one instrument only starts half a beat later, then it makes more sense to have the dynamics all aligned, than moving that one instrument "out of column".
Currently MuseScore doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between the first and the second type of dynamic markings.

Oki then. Thanks for coming by the post ;)
