Unwanted Grand Staff
I accidentally and irrationally copied a two-part song in Grand Staff format rather than Sop/Bass, and now don't see a way to set two different instruments, which I would like to do. In Grand Staff it seems that one can only choose one instrument type. :)
Is it possible to reverse this to a normal two part song format?

If you mean, you want two separate instruments of one staff each instead of one instrument with two staves, just go to Edit / Instruments, add the second instrument, then return to the score, copy/paste one of the two original staves to the new one, then go back to Edit / Instruments and delete the now-unneeded second staff.

Thank you Marc. That kind of worked, but the pasted stave dropped an octave, plus lost things like repeats, of which there are quite a few. Can it be done more cleanly?

The paste will always be in the same octave. It's possible you entered the new staff using a different clef so it looks like the octave changes? ALso, not sure what you mean about repeats. When you add a staff to the existing score, it automatically gets all the existing repeats - you don't want or noeed to copy them a second time. Only if you created a new score would that be an issue. So, don't do that - use Edit / Instruments as I suggested to add a new staff to the existing score (the one with the grand staff).
If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Ah, I get it Marc, thank you. All well now :)
