Your 2nd step F# apparently doesn't mean the keysig, which is G-Major, not F# Major, does it?
Doesn't seem to make a difference though, same issue

yes sorry, in the instruction to reproduce by "f#" I meant a "key with f#" be it G major, E minor or whatever
Workaround: Delete the original key signature and re-add it
This works with any key.
