Timeline shows instrument name, not part name

Shouldn't the timeline show the part name, not whatever instrument you chose at the beginning?

What's the difference?

with instrument, you might get 4 parts, all named "Piano", while showing the part name would show "melody, accompaniment, bass, etc"

Why would you want it to take the Instrument name then?
It takes the "Long instrument name" currently, not the "Instrument" nor the "Part name", BTW.
If "Long instrument name is not set, it falls back to Instrument though, guess that could get improved to first fall back to "Part name" and only if that is unset to "Instrument"

I want it to take the PART name, not instrument. That makes the most sense (to me)

As said, we'd need another intermediate fall back. Final fallback is the instrument name, as that's the only one guaranteed not to be empty.
