slurs changing place
When I log on to my score, I find that many of the slurs that I have added have changed place or changed length. For instance, if I created a slur that goes over four notes, I find that it has changed to extend over just two of those notes. What is going on, and can I prevent this?

Can you attach here the *.mscz file you are having problems with?
If you are referring to your scores on .com it is due to the difference in versions in use.

3.4.2? Upgrade if possible: https://musescore.org/en/download
Right now I'm on the 32 bit pc and I only have 3.2.3, what are the measures involved? Did you apply the slurs by clicking on the first note, holding Ctrl clicked on the last one? Or also selected the whole measure and pressed S?
My guess is you used your mouse to take the endpoint of a slur and thus dragged it off visually without changing the actual anchor point of the slur at all. (You'll notice this because the dotted line that shows that anchor point doesn't change).
Have a look at https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/slurs#adjustments for how MuseScore expects you to change the endpoints of a slur.

That could be the problem. I will try using the manual method of extending slurs, using the Shift and Arrow buttons, and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks.

Note it's "manual" whether you drag the endpoint or use the keyboard shortcut; it just works more correctly with the keyboard shortcut. It does work wen dragging if you're careful to drag to an actual note, not just some point above or below it. You'll see it the anchor change when you do this. But again, that's still "manual".
The better way - the automatic way - to add slurs over multiple notes is to simply select the entire range of notes first, then add the slur (either with shortcut "S" or clicking the slur icon on the palette).

Only since 3.5 and the OP shared a score created in 3.4.2 ;-)

That's why the OP should update ;-)
