How to include angle brackets in forum text?
My preferred convention for mentioning MusicXML elements in technical writing (including in forum posts) is to enclose their names in "angle brackets", just as they appear in the actual MusicXML code (as "opening tags", to be specific).
How can I successfully include those characters (formally, "greater than" and "less than") in the text of a forum post?

Use HTML entities, < and > or, in case of (Music)XML code, use <xml>...</xml> to enclose it. Similar tags are available for C(++) code and several more

Or perhaps like this:
