dynamics in grand staff for two parts
Hello,
Maybe this already exists (?) or in progress. I want to assign different dynamics to a "part" ("1"/"2" etc) in a grand staff.
I saw this thread : https://musescore.org/en/node/299015 which gives a solution - to make all the notes silent and add a non-visible additional staff with dynamics markings.
But obviously this solution is not very easy to apply when you change the score a lot.
Can you add the feature of another option in the dropdown to make the dynamics control only the part in the specific staff?

Already exists, in Inspector. Set the "Dynamic range" for the dynamig or hairpint from part (the default) to staff.

But I have two parts on the same staff (I.e. stems going both up and down on the same staff)
Setting the value to staff will affect both. While what I want is to have the top part with mf and the bottom part with p dynamics.

Ture, that ability does not currently exist, but is a reasonable common request I'd expect to see implemented at some point.
Meanwhile, the easier workaround if this is for piano is to alter the velocity in the Inspector for the notes you want different than what the prevailing dynamic is (disable playback of the other to be sure).

That's not a Grand staff then.
And MuseScore can't deal with different dynamics for different voices, see #58031: Dynamics/hairpin range for Voice

Well, it could be both - multiple voices within one of the two staves that make up the grand staff. That's how I interpreted it anyhow.

This is why I posted in “feature request “ sub forum.. hopefully it will be added soon.
And I meant I have SATB like voicing on a grand staff.

Ah, a closed score SATB then. You can use the corresponding template, and use the S/A and T/B staff texts from the text palette and then you can use the mixer to influence the volume of the different voices.
But indeed, Dynamics and hairpins for voices is a rather old feature request, almost 6 years old now...
