Intermittent Gray Panel when selecting note
Musescore Version 3.6.2.548020600 Revision 3224f34
Greetings Team Musescore -
This has been happening with moderate frequency since the above version was installed I am running OSX Sierra 10.12.6 with 32 Gig Memory. This is the ONLY issue I have ever had with my beloved Musescore. I have been meaning top report it for weeks. Please note I am not running any other apps, and it does not occur in 'related' apps, such as a word processor, etc.
ISSUE: THE CONTROL PANEL TURNS GRAY intermittently when selecting a note. I cannot drag and drop a .MOV. It is 19 Meg, so please view it on the google drive link below. A photo does not demonstrate the issue.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Try using https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings
You can attach the *.mscz file and someone will take a look, the video is unclear (at least for me).

Thank you, Shoichi.
I have re-installed Musescore and shut down everything else. Same Issue.
It is not the .mscz. It happens on scores I wrote last year in prior versions.
I am sending a screen shot of the Panel graying out after clicking a note ON A DIFFERENT SCORE to modify it.
I just clicked the G ( selected note still Blue ). Note the Grayed Out Panel.

If no one else can suggest anything else try to open with 3.6.2 an old score (generated maybe with 3.4?), save it and reopen with the new version. Does the problem persist?
(Usually revert is better than reinstalling)
To me this looks as if you've accidentally double clicked. The note is now in "Edit mode" and indeed many controls are then disabled. You'll notice that arrow keys now move the note with increments of 0,1sp visually, without actually changing the pitch for example.
You can exit edit mode either by clicking on an empty space or by pressing Esc once.

Thank you. It is NOT double clicking. That is CERTAIN. I am fully familiar with ALL of Musescore's functionality suite. I am a retired software developer.

Jeetee, you may be on to something, though. Based on your suggestion, I am going to get another mouse. It is possible the mouse thinks I am double-clicking it. Thank you again, sir.

Yes, OP should check the Status bar to see if Edit mode is, in fact, active.

FIXED?!
Yes, Thank you, jm6stringer.
I went out and got another mouse. This SEEMS to have been the culprit. Amazing. NEVER have I heard of a mouse behave as if it was being double-clicked.
SHOICHI: Thank you again, my friend. Your suggestion pointed me in a totally unexpected troubleshooting direction. I will be writing through tomorrow and hopefully we can close this.
Hai la mia sincera gratitudine.

RESOLVED. It was the mouse. My thanks again to JEETEE, SHOICHI, and JM6STRINGER.
This was an extremely frustrating problem. Never considered the mouse sending a random double click.
