Aeolus Reconfiguring discussion
In order to save clogging up the issue tracker with a discussion about the way this should move forward, I am opening this discussion here.

Currently under debate is whether there should be an Aeolus Theatre Organ provided with MuseScore as well as a cross genre classical organ.
There are broadly two types of pipe organ:-
1. The classical organ which is founded on pipes of diapason tone.
2. The theatre organ founded on pipes of tibia tone.
In real life, there is a degree of overlap between the two types, theatre organ ranks being found in classical organs and vice versa.
For examples of the above for the classical organ think Royal Albert Hall, and for the theatre organ think Blackpool Tower. Both these are of course English organs, and you will find that classical organs in particular are widely varied depending on national school of organ building.

Here is the new classical specification for the Aeolus organ I have designed for MuseScore. It has some limitations due to the number of stops available in the Swell and Choir divisions, but will enable the performance of quite a wide range of classical organ genres from Baroque German, English and French Schools through to the German Romantic and French Symphonic schools.

8 years later and that project is as dead as it can be. It was never part of an official release as far as I remember, the code was in MuseScore but disabled for a very long time, but finally got removed just recently.

Is this the same organ in soundfont form? https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1040 It is called the Aeolus soundfont
The bumpf at the beginning says “Every stop sampled from the open-source Aeolus pipe organ synthesiser running on Ubuntu.”.
Hope this helps in answering the postees question.
To the postee if you drag the soundfont into Plougue it will automatically assign the sounds as individual pipes. Problem is you don’t get a GUI you have to select pipes manually into any one of the slots. Don’t ask me how it is much easier to read the instructions because you either assign one sound to the midi part that you want to sound ie Trompette then the other parts to grand, principle and pedal or how ever you want your piece to be transcribed. It doesn’t quite work like a proper church organ ie when you gradually switch off pipes say from tutti down to a soft flute you have to work that out manually. It isn’t that difficult to use. Garritan Organ is programmed to work properly using a pedal whereas plogue doesn’t even though they use the same engine. I read you can get Aria Free and some soundfonts to go with it. In polyphone you can arrange your pipes as G P R and P as you’d get on a 3 tier organ. Now the original postee has done all the hard work for you here because the Church Organist has given you the disposition of the Aeolus Organ. Again polyphone is quite easy to use. You can export the soundfont into GPRP tiers. And then in plogue it will process the sounds where you want them. Hope this helps. I can’t tell you how to import to Musescore. Sorry.
