I have several editions of the same score. How do I completely remove the old versions?

Navigate to the folder in which the old versions are kept and delete them as you would delete any other file on your computer.

Do know the name of he folder in which Musescore stores scores. I'm unable to find any of the scores I've created other than when I open Musewscore and they appear on he screen.

See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/preferences#general

MuseScore is happy to save to any folder you tell it to, so it's impossible for us to know what folder you chose when you first saved it. But the default when you first install MuseScore would be Documents/MuseScore3/Scores, or as given in Edit / Preferences / General. After that, MuseScore remembers the last folder you chose to save to and defaults there. So, try creating a new score, saving it, and paying attention to what folder it tries to save to.
Most OS's provide a search facility also to help you find files, so do a web search to learn how to use the one that comes with yours (eg, Windows Explorer, macOS Finder).
