Buzzing every other beat on playback
Hi
All midi files I try with Musescore do not play correctly. It's like I get a buzzing sound for one beat on every other beat. It's as if this is some kind of blocker to stop you using the software. I have subscribed to the Pro Level so ruled that out.
All other music files play great and also all of my keyboards play without any sound imperfections. It's only this program.
My set up is Win 10 64 bit, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz, 16gb RAM. My output device is a Steinberg UR-RT USB Audio Interface through Adam Audio speakers.
I have attached the two midi files I have tried.
SMP/.mid files play ok on other software I have though this rig.
Any tips would be welcome please.

Turn down the Master-Volume (Gain) from the Synthesizer or Mixer to at least -40 (down to -50 if needed).

Where -40 is the default. And a good one
Hi both thanks. I have now played with the gain, turning it up and down , even to extremes. I have also updated to MuseScore 3.6.Still no joy....It sounds if it trying to buffer and not quite catching up in time.

No such issue here.
Does it only happen with imported MIDI files? What about regular scores? Have you installed any custom soundfonts? What happens if you do Help / Revert to Factory Settings?

I have only had the software 3 days.The pro membership is to download midi and scores from the website, I am beginning to understand that the site and the app are not the same company, albeit the same product name.
I downloaded the Mr Blue Sky score and midi file from the Musescore website.I also imported this midi file to my Roland FA08.It plays fine when playing from the Roland back through my set up.
When the same midi file is played directly in the Musescore app I have the buzzing distorted every other beat.
I suspect this will be the same with the A ha midi file which was downloaded from another source.
I will try a factory reset.But it seems like a buffering problem and the PC can’t keep up with the information and requests being sent out of the app.
I will check my resource meters whilst running but suspect the PC will red line everywhere.
The app seems very resource hungry and makes me wonder what else in running within the app.
As an example I also use Cubase over 128 channels and that playsback fine when I convert the same midi file to wav.
Will try suggested thank you.
I will also try and run on an Apple device to see if I get a more pleasing result.

Well, it's the same company, in the way that Yamaha makes both pianos and motorcycles.
If you distortion playing within MuseScore, then probably you have turned the internal synthesizer within MuseScore too loud and it is clipping, The Revert to factory settings would correct that.
MuseScore is a big and complex app, so it does take some memory and CPU processing, but nothing out of line with other music notation applications of similar complexity. I run it in extremely low powered hardware all the time with no problems whatsoever unless I'm running a dozen other resource-hungry processes at the same time. I just tried the first MIDI file you posted, it plays fine for me on an 8th gen "m3" processor (eg, the low-powered one for fanless devices). I also run regularly on ARM and even lower-powered devices.
Could, however, be an incompatibility with the specific audio driver MsueScore is choosing, if it doesn't fix itself on the revert to factory settings, go to Edit / Preferences / I/O and try some of the other options there. Most systems have quite a number of different audio subsystems to choose from.

It's still not clear, BTW, why you are attempting to open MIDI files from musescore.com in MuseScore. I mean, technically, it will work, but why not download the actual score? That's kind of like going to a restaurant and ordering a nice dinner, then ignoring it and just eating the packets of salt on the table. The whole point of MuseScore - both the website and the application itself - is the scores. The only reason to resort to MIDI is to load into a program that can't deal with the actual score.

is open source, available to all free of charge. There is no pro level with "unlocked" features. The same applies to any future updates if/when they become available.
