Any way to keep tab fingerings on original string?
Hi - Is there any setting that will keep tab fingers from moving around to higher strings? I generally place the fingering right where I want them, but I might adjust the note up or down one, and boom the whole thing shifts to higher strings (and lower frets) and then it's tweaking the tab endlessly isn't it? I mean obviously some setting other me than getting it right the first time. v3.6.2

How are you changing the note? Using the Up/Down arrows on the note on the tab staff should leave it exactly on the same string. If you have a case where this isn't happening, please attach your score and describe what you are doing in more detail, then we can understand and assist better.

Something surprises me in what you say. For example, if you choose finger 4 to make an E (2nd string, 5th fret), this fingering will be completely irrelevant if you switch the E for the first open string, right? Indeed, a sample score might help to clarify your thinking and the use case.
In any case, I would say that common sense, and the most prudent thing, would be to wait until you have finished typing your score and the choice of frets on this or that string before adding the fingerings :)
