FEATURE REQUEST: Auto-slur melismas
Sorry if this was requested before.
In modern notation it is common practice to add slurs to melismas. More specifically: whenever a syllable extends to two or more notes, such notes are usually connected by a slur.
I know this feature exists in Sibelius and Finale as a plug in, so I took for granted that it would exist in Musescore as well, but I couldn't find it. Any chance it might be added?
PS: I've just finished transcribing a 90 pages choral work. A simple plug in for auto-slurs would save enormous time compared to adding them manually. I can't be the only one who would need this, right?

This seems to request the opposite: adding melismas lines when slurs are present, but I honestly don't see the point of it. Who adds slurs before lyrics? 🤔

Who does not? I always enter the notes (and slurs) first, then add the lyrics

Well that surprises me, but ok 🤔 I mean, in choral music lyrics imply the slurs, not the othe way around, most of the time. Or am I missing something?
Nevertheless, I would strongly advocate for an auto-slur plug in :)

I'm not composing, but only transscribing, I guess there's the difference. If you compose a melody and than add lyrics, you may find only then that slurs are needed at places.
Logic-wise your right though, you'd add slurs because there are melismas. And not every slur does get a melisma (sing legato), but every melisma gets a slur

Ah I see! In my case, the piece I transcribed used syllabic beaming and no slurs at all. But I'm now writing with standard beaming, so I need to add all slurs from scratch, that's why an auto-slur plug in would be amazing.

Oh yes, this would be the perfect plug in for having this additional feature. Switch from traditional to modern beaming, and in the case of modern beaming include the option for auto-slurs. Would be amazing!

I have written the plugin myself. Horrible coding, it's workaround. But it gets the job done :)
