Precise pause at beginning of score?
Is there a way to add a precise pause (e.g. 1 second) at the beginning of the score? The score is a play-along track; the pause will allow the performer to get situated at their instrument. It doesn't seem possible to insert a breath or caesura before the first note of a score.

Indeed, you can't add a caesura before the first note, but you can add a measure or measures (Add>[One] Measure[s]) and adjust the length to give whatever interval is necessary. You could even add notes to give an audible "count in".

I thought about adding a measure, but I want to do this on numerous files and would like to precisely measure the pause, as a caesura allows, so they're all exactly the same length.
Any reason not to just use the count-in feature (see View / Play Panel)? You can even turn the metronome volume down to zero so it's a silent count-in.

This is for an exported MP3; the performer won't be using MuseScore.

In that case I’d consider adding it via Audacity - probably it would be possible to automate that for a large number of files.
