Musescore is respelling chords that don't need to be respelled.
Hi,
So, this is happening throughout my entire project.
Noticed how the two highlighted chords are the same, but for some reason Musescore is respelling it mid-staff for no apparent reason.
Changing the key signature has no effect on this.
It's a large composition and I rather not have to worry about this sort of thing happening/fixing it manually every time it happens in the piece.

Aren't you the one typing in the note names?
- Or -
Are you entering using a MIDI keyboard?
What exactly do you mean that the chords are the same? (what clef?)
What is the context - i.e., key signature, mode, clef?
Once you've entered notes, MuseScore doesn't change their spelling unless you give a command that causes this. So the question is, what did you do after initially entering those notes with the desired spelling that caused it to be respelled? One thing that obviously does this is Tools / Respell Pitches. Another thing that can do this is transposition via Tools / Transpose, but also via the Up/Down keys, and in some cases.
If you are able to attach a score in which the notes are spelled as you wish, then give the precise steps you take from there that results in the spelling being changed and what you were trying to do instead, we can help you find the better way of accomplishing that result without the side effect of pitch changes.
Hey guys,
So, I composed this piece in my DAW (Studio One) then imported the midi into musescore. For some reason, even after the appropriate adjustments (putting in a key signature for example) this bug still happens. For some reason, when hitting the "respell pitches" command, Musescore does this. I'm attaching the project file.

OK... So you are not entering notes yourself into MuseScore, but rather composing in a different software, exporting as MIDI, then importing the result into MuseScore. Why not simply use MuseScore and eliminate all the potential translation issues? Or import MusicXML rather than MIDI?
Anyway,
From the initial image you posted above, it looks like you are concerned with measure 7.
For simplicity, (no need for 8 pages plus parts to wade through!!!) here is an abbreviated score:

How do you wish those notes spelled?

Hi,
I've composed this project straigtht into my DAW as a means of getting a mockup done first, then the score. My DAW unfortunately doesn't export MusicXML.
I simply wish the notes to be spelled the way Musescore spells them at the start of the bar.
Having the note spelling change in the middle of the bar will only make the reading session harder for our players.
Since it's a large piece, I was relying on musescore to do the heavy lifting when it comes to calculating pitches, instead of having to do so manually throughout the whole piece.

Ah, sounds like you are saying the notes weren’t changed, they simply weren’t spelled the way you wanted upon import. Unfortunately that just how it is with MIDI, it lacks very basic info like that so programs have to guess about spelling and notes outside the key are only going be guessed “right” (meaning, the way you happen to want) only 50% of the time and you’ll need to fix the rest.
For notes that are in the key, MuseScore does spell them accordingly. you’ve changed the key, but if you later change the key, MuseScore doesn’t respell the pitches. You’d need to do that yourself, by selecting the notes then hitting Up, Down to respell with flags or vice versa for sharps.
