DOWNLOADING TO A USB STICK
Hi there forum,
I am a naive newcomer both to computing and MuseScore.
However I am getting quite close to finishing a modest arrangement of a piece.
I grew up during the age of vinyl and then cassettes.
Nowadays I notice people can carry Music on USB Memory Sticks.
With regard for my own simple project, there are two things that I would like to know.
The first relates to the fact that Music made using Musescore is saved using a program whose name seems to be abbreviated to ' mcsz ' I think ( ?)
This has made me wonder whether I need to put the whole Musescore Software on the USB stick so that the recipient can play it, after having installed the entire accompanying Musescore Software.
The second thing I would like to know is how do I go about the main part of the project which is to put ,somehow, onto the USB the Piece of Music I have just arranged, whether using Musescore Software or not .
Can anybody give me dead simple instructions please ?
Peace and Love
Sam

You can 'install' MuseScore on a USB stick, just use the PortableApp from our download page, it is for Windows.
That is not needed though to copy all your mscz files onto a USB stick. The recipient can install MuseScore on his/her PC and load your scores from the stick.
You get your scores to the USB stick by means of your operating system. Explorer for Windows, Finder for Mac
Or via MuseScore's File > Save (or Save as) dialog

Dear Jojo. Thank you for your interest so far. You refer to : -
Although I have looked all over I can find neither the Portable App nor any download page .
Might I please ask, what it is that YOU do to get to these 2 programmes ?

See https://musescore.org/en/download
You can also save your music as an mp3 so that others don't have to have MuseScore installed to be able to listen to your music.

Hi there,
Thanks for your interest.
I was wondering about " WAV's " and MP3's and suchlike
Might you please advise me as to how I do this ?
Or are the various steps to be found under " Help "

The key word to look for in the handbook is "Export". That is how you generate an MP3 from a score, you "export" it as an MP3.
