FORMAT STYLE FOR FINGERING TEXT
I've just started using the app and am trying to note some piano fingering. But I'm having no luck with formatting it.
I can modify a single element with the inspector, but see no place there to save the style which reverts to default when I move to add another fingering notation.
I have defined and saved a style for text_fingering but cannot see how to load or otherwise apply it.

Go to Preferences → Shortcuts → then search for "Add Fingering" and then define that, that way you can use something like "Ctrl+F" to insert a fingering text, as that is a peculiar text style that pre-exists. From there, if you want to change the font or whatever attribute, the inspector has "S" markings on the right hand side of the areas that can be saved as default for fingering text. You may need to expand the inspector outward for some of these to be shown, and the data has to have been altered for them to be enabled - emboldened - for pressing from a pointer device.
Remember that you can press spacebar to traverse through chords/notes for fingering texts. Also read https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/fingering to be sure.

I was not seeing the S icons (this is what drove me to reaching out), until I closed and re-opened the app ... with repairs.
With the style set buttons I am able to set and retain the font and location offsets I would like. However, when I space bar to the next note for a fingering annotation the element position defaults ( box checked) to Automatic. The fingering annotation has the font as defined but the placement with offsets it not applied. It seems the offset placement cannot be defined for the style.
My work around is to use the "select all" function for the element type "fingering" to then position all the notations relative to the notes.

The "S" icon is sometimes too far to the right to see if your Inspector is too narrow, so either widen the Inspector or else use the scroll bar.
If you hit the S button for the offsets, they are saved as part of the style. But note, fingering position is highly complex, those offsets are not applied blindly because it actually differs according to whether the finger is above or below the staff, outside or within, to the left or the right, etc. In general, if this is ordinary piano music, best to leave those defaults alone as they are tuned to work across all those different situations. but if you're using fingering for some other purpose for which you do need to override the standard positioning, best to switch to a different text style, not piano. Then Musescore will apply the offset relative to the notehead itself, not to the standard positioning.

As you can see I'm new to the app.
It looks like what I've come up with works well. I'm placing the fingering notation with offsets to noteheads without regard to the staff. I only need to set this in one instance and then can select all the rest of them which I then configure, simultaneously, using the inspector window and simply unchecking Automatic placement.
I'm still working on the score but I have attached a score fingered in a similar fashion by another member so you can see what I'm describing.
