GuitarPro-compatible Export
I'm used to tuxguitar but more and more I'm moving to MuseScore for a lot of reasons. One thing that I'm missing yet is some gp5-export-like functionality in order to cooperate with my fellow musicians.
(without losing repeatition or lyrics; like the midi-export does)
Is something like this planned?

No. How about MusicXML?
Try MusicXML export instead of midi. You can import MusicXML into GP.
Keep us posted on your findings.

I tried, but gp6 wasn't able to import; stated some xml files to be corrupt - others were just partially read (drums only, no bass and guitar).

Which version of MuseScore do you use and where did the MuseScore file originate from? You wrote it from scratch or it came from an import?
In reply to Which version of MuseScore do by Thomas
I tried v2.0.3 and v2.1.0. The score file is a regular mscz-file (self-composed). The xml by v2.0.3 was partially read by gp6, the xml by v2.1.0 was completly rejected. The v2.0.3 seems not completly valid (when reimporting to MuseScore), but the v2.1.0 file works on re-importing to musescore.

Please share score and xml files.

I just made a demo score but I'm waiting for a friend to load them into gp6 (because I don't own it). But anyway, I attach them here (I guess they don't work correctly in gp6 but as I mentioned: not tested with this particular score)

Nothing special by importing your attached .xml files with GP6. Except a bunch of rests in the first part of Hand Clap, as you can see in these files saved:
- the first one in .gpx format: Example v2.0.3.gpx
- and the other exported in .gp5 format : Example v2.0.3.gp5
No corruption, but an oddity, with its rests. I do not know what the intent was?
We can rectify that, but without knowing what the goal is, I don't know that is appropriate.

And the pdf file from GP6: Example v2.0.3.pdf

Thx so far. Where is that handclap instrument line comming from?
And btw the lyrics seem to be completly lost (see my original mscz for comparision).

"Where is that handclap instrument line comming from?"
It's simply the first track I see by importing your .xml file with GP (you can see it on the last attached pdf file in my previous comment)
About the lyrics, I guess GP don't import the lyrics from a XML format?

is there any way to avoid the handclap track from being created? the original score had only drums, bass and guitar without an extra handclap.

Please share this original score.

this score is already attached above (see Example.mscz 24.95 KB)

OP claimes it was a self composed file from MuseScore, so an mscz would be the source. That file exported to xml from MuseScore causes ossue on import into GP6 (and tuxguitar?)
But the sample file doesn't seem to show all of the original problem, or does it?
In reply to OP claimes it was a self by Jojo-Schmitz
That's right. The original problems were not reproduced with the example, but the lyrics don't work. So this lyric-related issue seems to be related to guitarpro itself, right?
In reply to That's right. The original by Christian Glöckner
That is pretty likley the case, yes.
In reply to OP claimes it was a self by Jojo-Schmitz
The file was imported into GP6 perfectly.
I didn't see "handclaps" in here.
Tuxguitar extracts XML, but can not import.
Yes, Lyrics do not appear. But I don't know how the GP6 defines lyrics in itself.

GP6 Version 6.1.9 here.
EDIT: and same result, after update (version 6.2.0), and importing this .xml file: Example v2.0.3.xml with GP last version.
So, can't say more.

Unfortunately neither TuxGuitar nor Yousician can import MusicXML files (Yousician can for piano, not for guitar). And probably there is a lot of other software limited to GP tabs.
Yes, that is a problem with said software, not MuseScore, but it would be great if MuseScore could help by providing GP export.

Old thread but the issue is actual enough...
TuxGuitar also has its own format. If MuseScore can be made to support this (via a plugin?) then that would offer an avenue for exporting to GuitarPro. Or simply to TuxGuitar, since that's free...

Feel free to provide such a plugin or a pull request to MuseScore's code, it is OpenSource after all ;-)

Feel free to motivate someone who actually knows the code to do this :p

I understand TuxGuitar supports midi. Maybe not the best, but at least something.
