sound not changing w instru change

• Mar 6, 2022 - 19:41

I got score from Musescore "lib/site". It played as piano as expected.
I change instru to acoustic guitar (via staff part prop) and shifted notes one
octave (via staff part prop). Result attached.

It still plays as piano, I can't fig out why? F10 window says it is acoustic guitar.
I checked a blank guitar staff template that I use (created by me), it sounds fine as guitar.

Am on ver 3.6.2

Yes, it does play/sound different. How did ya do that? I do not see
any changes in "mixer" panel/window/pane/pain of what you sent vs
what I posted. Am I 1/2 blind or 1/2 dumb?

Am having some mini argus w Marc about "mixer" panel/window/pane/pain also. Maybe
I have something setup wrong?

If you go to View / Mixer and open up the channel strip for the Acoustic Guitart, you'll see there are a number of subchannels. The basic playback sound for the main subchannel is "Steel String Guitar". If you prefer a different type of guitar, simply change it there in the mixer. The chord symbol subchannel is set to Grant Piano, so change that as well if you like.

See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/playback-chord-symbols-nashville-nu…
and read the directions.

Under "Change playback sound" step #2 reads; "In the Track area locate the track for the part in question."
Can you do this?

Step #3 reads: "Click on the 'Show channels' arrow to display all the child tracks for that part."
Can you do this?
You need to open the channel tracks by clicking the arrow button on top of the track control.
See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/mixer#track-area
and look at the picture of the expanded violin tracks. (They are colored pink in the image.)

Then continue with steps 4 and 5.

The picture you show does not show the channel strip open, it shows it closed. If it were open, you'd see several vertical strips in the bottom half, each with its own slider, for the various subchannels, depending on what instrument you have used. The one to the far right is the chord symbol subchannel. And as you can see in my picture, it's currently set to Grand Piano in your score. Just change it to whatever you prefer.
