Import from PDF doesn't work for me, because the Web Browser I use

I use MuseScore 3.0.1 into UbuntuStudio 18.04.1 LTS (64 bit Linux).
I can not to use the "Import from PDF" option because MuseScore tells me it can not to find the Google-Chrome web browser.
Of course it can not to find it, because I use Mozilla Firefox!!!
BUT... Shouldn't MuseScore have to know that and automatically switch to my web browser???
Or... MuseScore is trying to force me to use Google-Chrome, which I don't want to use???

You need to report that to musescore.com
It probably needs JavaScript, or popups allowed or something like that, so maybe playing with your browser options might help?

Why should that be relevant to musescore.com? OP uses amenuentry from the MuseScore application (File > Import PDF ...).
To the OP: MuseScore just ask your desktop environment to open a web page. Which browser is chosen depends on the configuration of your desktop env. (mine opens Firefox). You might need to change the DE's setting for 'default program to open URLs' or something similar. You might also try to use 'xdg-settings' (from the xdg-utils package). In a terminal, type 'xdg-settings get default-web-browser' to see your current configuration.

Because that conversion is done (by an experimental service on) on musescore.com, and as such outside of the control of musescore develeopers and also outside of musesrore.org supportability

But OP's problem is not with the service - the problem is the MuseScore program that tries to open a not-installed browser.

Well, MuseScore tries to start the default browser (at least it does that in Windows), not sure how this is handled on Linux
MuseScore used a Qt API for this,

This problem still persists in 3.6.2 (Xubuntu 22.04) if using Firefox as default browser
It seems to work if using Chrome instead.
I tried to open Musescore from terminal; when clicking on "Import PDF..." it says:
cannot open path of the current working directory: Permission denied
If I open the software with root permissions, it still doesn't work:
