Version 3.6.2 crashes immediately on my MacBook Pro (macosx 10.14)
Hi,
Since I installed a Yamaha audio driver on my MacBook Pro (macosx 10.14), version 3.6.2 crashes immediately. I then installed the 3.6.2 nightly copy on 7/29/2022, which does not crash, and seems to work just fine (with the Yamaha driver installed).
After receiving some good suggestions in the Issue Tracking section, I have a few remaining questions:
- As I am not a professional musician, I see no downside in continuing to use the 7/29/2022 nightly 3.6.2 edition that I installed. I would rather do this than explore which specific condition in my MacBook environment is causing the problem, which could take a lot of unnecessary (in my opinion) time and energy. Am I missing anything?
- What are the plans for version 3.6.2? Will there be a time when I can download a future copy that may not/probably will not have the problem I have experienced? Are there announcements about when nightly editions are "made official"?
TIA
Colin Goldberg

Maybe it is #317323: macOS 10.5 accessibility setting “Enable Hover Text” causes crash?

On this page:
- Development builds of MuseScore
it shows categories for 3.x and 4.x, Linux/MacOS nightly/beta
I selected 3.x MacOS nightly. When it comes up, it clearly states "3.6.2"

Whatever that is, it got to be some post 3.6.2 development build that never got released.
However: if it works for you, just use it ;-)

Thanks, that's what I will do. BTW, it is still being produced, last one is today.

But there shouldn't be any code changes, as far as I can tell

Actually there were 2 minor code changes, but nothing for Mac, just a new certificate/signature for the MSI package (Microsoft/Windows installer)
