How to add little crosses to indicate that you should tap the drum of the banjo when creating banjo tab?
Can anyone help me with this please? I want to show in my banjo tab score that the student should tap the drum for 2 quavers " tap, tap", instead of play a note?
So I am trying to add little crosses or other symbols, ideally on the stave (but rests with the symbol above would work too...) to indicate that you should tap the drum of the banjo when creating banjo tab?

Try Shift+X, which is the shortcut for creating a ghost note in tab. You could also use Tools / Toggle Rhythmic Slash Notation.

Thank you! How do get it just to apply to 2 notes (the last 2 (rest) quavers of a bar though? I can only seem to highlight the whole bar then if use the Tools / Toggle Rhythmic Slash Notation.it wipes out the whole bar and replaces it with slashes.. thanks

Just select the range you want the command to apply to, using any of the usual selection methods - eg, click the first note, Shift+click the last, or Shift plus cursor keys to select while navigating, etc.
