An electric guitar with distortion or overdrive acts weird with ties.
When two or more notes are tied together, the guitars usually play both notes, as if the tie wasn't there. But sometimes it stops playing the note altogether and sometimes it works as normal.
This is also the case with converted mp3 files.

I also have this issue.
Same issue here. It also sometimes just refuses to play any type of bend despite it working on 3.0.

Bends playback is a known bug: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/14443
I found I work around. If you select the tied notes and set them to not be played (uncheck 'play' in the properties panel) then it will behave as expected.
