MuseScore 4: Invisible Instruments Playback
In MuseScore 3, if I am in a part score, and I want to hear the other instruments played, I could go to the mixer and untick "only play this part score". How do I do that in MuseScore 4? All other instruments are greyed out in the mixer and they are forced to be muted.

The workaround is to make the instruments visible again, but hide their individual staves instead. This is done via the Instruments panel.

It solved the problem for now, thanks!
This was one of the first things I noticed myself. Often when learning a piece I like to play along with the backing tracks while only reading the the score for my part with the other parts invisible. This has been a great feature and an essential part of what I use the program for. Because of this I am back to Musescore 3. Everything else looks great and it is a bummer, but like I said this was one of the things I used the most.

So why not use the mentioned workaround? Mark the instrument visible but its staves invisible.

I looked at the stave properties dialog but I only see a mechanism to hide empty staves, not the entire instrument.

Look at the instruments panel (F7) instead. That's where you'll see the "eye" in front of each instrument and the possibility to "unfold" them to reveal their staves.
