I'm using Ventura 13.1 macOS. Was working fine yesterday afternoon, this morning I couldn't open it. Tried rebooting, downloading a new app -- same result. I finally went to my TimeMachine, selected the app I was using yesterday afternoon and now I can open MuseScore and at least get a printed page.
Not sure what happened between yesterday afternoon (3:00pm MST) and this morning (8:00am MST), but something happened. Is it possible that MusHub has an incorrect download setting? Downloading a windows/lunix app onto a Mac?
Always -- tried multiple times including rebooting between. First I rebooted to see if there was something hung. Then tried downloading a new app -- same result.
MuseScore was still loaded from yesterday. The icon this morning had a circle with a line across the icon and the app was unresponsive. I tried it about 5 or 6 different combinations to see if I could get it working. All the same error message.
Do you have a Mac with a M1 or M2 chip, or an Intel processor?
Also, you could try the option "Download without Muse Hub" on the home page of this site, to see if that makes any difference; here's the direct link: https://musescore.org/en/download/musescore.dmg
Same. Suddenly Musescore refused to load (complaining about compatibility with my version of OS). Musehub is indicating that it is downloading a file that doesn't fully install. Direct link works. (Mac with intel-chip, MacOS Ventura 13.1)

Could you show a screenshot of the error message you are getting?
Also, what version of macOS do you have? It may well be the message is indeed accurate...

The direct link worked. Maybe something with MuseHub?
