If I made music with MuseSounds, can I sell it?
I was wondering if I can use the music that I make with musescore/musesounds comercially, like composing for videogames or similar
Is it legal? There is copyright over the sounds that doesn't allow me to sell my music?
Thanks in advance

yes, you can sell it

Hmm, that seems to exclude commercial use?

To my surprise it seems like the terms are fairly restrictive.
From the EULA:
Muse Sounds is an online service (“Service”) that allows you to browse and download pre-recorded sounds, sound effects, loops and samples (“Sound Files”), and software files (“Software Files”). Together, the Sound Files and Software Files, and all accompanying downloadable documentation (“Documentation”), are the “Products”.
The Products are the property of Muse Sounds and are licensed to you only for use as part of a live or recorded musical performance. You may not use these sounds for any commercial or non-commercial purpose except where you have combined them with other sounds within one or more musical composition(s) and/or recording(s).

So, would including a small, very quiet note from a secondary source, (30 seconds after the main score has finished), fulfill the requirement for the exception listed?

I had a similar thought. One could fulfill the terms simply by adding a subliminal audio watermark? Or a peep from any non MuseHub soundFont?

I think it allows for normal use freely, you don't need to combine with a second source.
"...newly-created sound recording..."
When you create music, it is a new standalone creation, and you alone have the copyright.
"You may not ...except where you have combined..."
I think the legal is suppose to address the loophole someone may sell "music" containing a single note each, which is essentially reselling the sound sample one by one. It is the common understanding of sound libraries license, the font license in word processors are similar.

With that notion in mind it makes more sense on second read.

I like to think that you are right, the not selling "music with one note" concept makes sense, but I can't help being unsure
It would be good if someone from the team were to clarify it

There is a lot of mumbo jumbo. They need to say what they mean.
There's a physical injury waver?

Either you are all in violation because the conditions imply that you can't download if you haven't puchased; or none of you are in violation because these conditions only apply to those who purchase a product. There are no clauses relating to users who have not purchased a product and no prohibition on downloading without purchasing.
Agreed, the paragraph is totally unclear. Maybe something got lost in (google) translation.
Lol. They should probably simply release their assets in GPL if they can't afford to hire a decent legal team.
Yes, You can.

This essentially means that, as long as your music is not just a single muse sounds sample "Sound File" (it contains more than one single note, in human terms), you can sell it. This is, as said in other comments, just so no one sells the individual samples somewhere else.

But this license refers to people "purchasing a Product". It doesn't define any rights for people that have not purchased a Product. Maybe you have to purchase a pro subscription??

Purchase doesn't necessarily mean to Buy something, it also means to Acquire or Obtain, it applies to free products.

Purchase is not buy, invasion is not a crime.

Purchase can mean "grip", (e.g. the tyres had no purchase on the ice), but otherwise, (at least in UK English), it means to acquire something by paying for it. Here is an accounting definition:
"A purchase means to take possession of a given asset, property, item or right by paying a predetermined amount of money for the transaction to be completed successfully. In other words, it's an exchange of money for a particular item or service."
You can definitely sell music you compose which include the use of Muse Sounds - the same way you can with VST or most other plugins.
If there is an ambiguity in the terms and conditions, I'll get that cleared up.
Sorry for not responding sooner. I missed this conversation when it was originally asked.
Yes. You are the sole copyright owner of your music created with Muse Sounds and you can sell it in any market of your choosing. This is standard for virtual instruments as they pertain to copyright law. The Muse Sounds license (like many other proprietary virtual instrument licenses) specifically accounts for this in their agreement by defining that the instrument is to be used to create new music and all other uses are a violation of copyright on the library.
I have sold music that I have created with Muse Sounds. I have music that employs Muse Sounds streaming on all of the major streaming services.
People get confused by the claim of commercial restrictions in the licensing. But this applies to the library only... you can't make a derivative library.
