Is there a way to more easily/quickly access flat and sharp signs?
Hi!
When I am typing flat and sharp symbols into key names using the staff text or RN text tool, it's really cumbersome to have to continually go to the properties tab and select special characters to select them. Is there a way to have them handy in a toolbar somehow? Thanks!

I know what staff text is but I don't know what the RN text tool is. I can tell you how I do it in ubuntu but you may use a different operating system; if so, you can wait and see if someone else answers or you can do some Googling. Entering special characters from the keyboard involves using Unicodes and the way that you enter them depends on your system and the code depends upon what text font you are using.

Press [Ctrl][Shift] u, type 266d [Enter] for flat, 266e for natural, 266f for sharp.
You have not specified which MS version you are using.
In 3.6.2 it is simple:
Double click on the staff text to enter edit mode, click on the alpha character and the special characters window will open.

hi---yes, I got spoiled in MS3! I've switched to 4 for the time being because I was having issues with 3 shutting down or becoming stuck. Wish that little alpha sign would come back in 4.
Both MU3 and MU4 have simple shortcuts to enter accidentals: Ctrl+Shift+b, Ctrl+Shift+#, and Ctrl+Shift+h.
Also, the Special Characters window is just a shortcut away - F2 in MU3, Shift+F2 in MU4. Also, in either version, you can drag symbols from there to your own palette for easier reuse.
But, for RNA, you don't need any of that. Just type "b" or "#" and it automatically turns into a flat or sharp sign where appropriate.
