Allow MS3 concurrent and continued free

I downloaded MS3 a couple of years ago and shortly thereafter purchased the book "Mastering MuseScore". MS3 has (had) all the features that I've grown to love and would never have had the opportunity to discover if not for the free version. I have enjoyed MS3 immensely and am probably part of a subgroup with distinct abilities and aspirations:
• I love music but I have absolutely zero interest in composing.
• I have decent music skills and understand basic notation (note values, clefs, score notation)
• I have established keen interest in MIDI files because of my ability to edit.

About 5 years ago I purchased a Yamaha Clavinova which I have become fairly proficient in playing. Because of my skills/interests/aptitude I found MS3 to be a great match for me to work with MIDI files. It has allowed me to use the MIDI Import Panel and after coupling the voice melody with the Clavinova channels I've been able to transpose, save, edit and export scores to a USB drive. Then the Clavinova can do much more with instrumentation and many other functions.

MS4 has forced a paid version to do much of what free MS3 has enabled. Because of this I started Google searching for free software that will do or close to doing what MS3 did. I only returned here to check once again what MS4 has to offer and came across this forum.
