Gould is a Jazz pianist, right? How grace notes are to be played is heavily dependant on the musical style. And MuseScore uses the classical variant

Hello, you are right but here it is not a question of artist interpretation but of a bug... musescore does not play what is written!
(concerning Gould on the other hand, I fear that you are mistaken... never heard that he was classified as a jazzman...)

I have no doubt about it. But that's not the point!
if you want to understand what I'm pointing out, test both scripts. They are (musically) perfectly identical. But musescrore plays them differently and only one way is correct. Can you explain that ?

grace notes take a certain amount off of the next note. And here apparently a hel is not the same as 2 tied quarters

My experience is that if I import music xml, the grace notes sounds «wrong».
I always delete them and enter them «manually” to get the playback ‘correct”.

We agree except that the problem does not only concern imported scores, I see the same bug on a new one.

Sorry, I do not know that I’m afraid.
I use MuseScore 3.6 and every effort regarding fixing MuseScore bugs seems to be on version 4 only.

well seen, it was important to be pointed out
but be advised, a new "clean" entry on the 3.6 inherits the same genetic defect.
If you can retrofit from v4 that would be great ! (but has V4 eliminate this problem?... I admit that I am not willing to reinstall it to find this out)
