Musescore 4 Files & Backups Keep crashing
I started having issues with musescore 4 today where I had worked on an orchestration project for class and right as I was finishing up, the file began crashing no matter what I did. I thought that file was corrupted so I tried recovering it. Long story short, I was able to put the file into Musescore 3, but I didn't want to go through and find all the missing elements from my finished Musescore 4 version.
I was also able to obtain a pdf of the Musescore 4 version by publishing the file on the Musescore website. After this, I recreated my orchestration project in Musescore 4, making 4 backups at 1/4 progress points each. When I was finished, I saved and left my computer alone. I come back 4 hours later and ALL 5 files (full, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 progress) crash upon opening.
Am I doing something wrong and accidentally saving a corrupted file, are my Musescore settings messed up, or is there something else I could do to get these files working?

Try first: Help / Revert to factory settings.
When I open the first file in MuS 3.6.2 it reports no error. See attached file.
What elements are you missing in the 3.6.2 version?

When I opened the file in Musescore 3, I was missing things like rit. lines and other tempo markings that were made using the Musescore 4 rit. element. Since I didn't memorize every part of the score/orchestration I made, I wasn't sure what other elements were missing beyond those.
For me MuseScore 4.0.2 and the latest development crashes when opening 11 Dream Images_Death-Love.mscz
That should get reported in the issue tracker on GitHub, https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/new/choose
No crash for me opening in 4.0.2 or a current nightly build (Linux). Are you perhaps using VST plugins? Maybe that's the source of the problem.

I don't believe I used any VST plugins, just whatever sounds are the default on Musescore 4 (which I think is the new MuseSounds). Is there someplace I would be able to identify if there is a VST plugin issue?

If you had gone out of your way to install and enable VST plugins, you'd probably remember. But you can check the Mixer to see if you see anything suspicious. But since others can reproduce n Windows, I'm guessing it's OS-specific and not necessarily connected to the sound.
