Guitar Slap Mark
Hello
I'm making a guitar tab now.
And I'm looking for the slap (x) mark, but I can't find it.
Can anyone tell me where it is if there's it in Musescore 4?
(Sorry for the bad grammar)

Pressing Shift+X will add the parens to mark it as ghosted or slapped. By default this leaves the fret mark - which seems like a good idea to me since it is often relevant - but if you wish to also replace it with an "x", use the Properties panel.

It works! Thank you
But it's still the 0 fret sound (I used 0 fret)
Can't I change it to a slap sound?
(And yes, sorry for the bad grammar)

I don't think that is currently supported. You can however turn off the Play property in the Properties panel so it doesn't sound at all, and then optionally add another instrument to produce the desired sound (and then mark it's staff invisible)

Okay
Thank you so much
Slapping and popping are ways to produce percussive sounds on a stringed instrument. It is primarily used on the double bass or bass guitar. Slapping on bass guitar involves using the edge of one's knuckle, where it is particularly bony, to quickly strike the string against the fretboard.

Yes
And my question is
How can I do this in MuseScore 4?

Try the slap bass soundfont from this collection (which is just MS Basic split into separate files) - https://community.masteringmusescore.com/c/resources/ms-basic-individua…
Or any other soundfont you find online for that specific sound. Has to be a single sound soundfont, or at least one where slap bass is the first sound.

Ok
Thank you for answering me this

Marc, thank you for providing the MS basic split, that is great! However, may I ask a question on this? As I understand it, I can only choose the e.g. Slap Bass or Pop Bass in playback, correct?
But both slap and pop techniques are usually used in a mixed fashion with normal plucking. No one can use a bass player playing one same slap all the time (btw, besides the slap sound in MS Basic which is a ringing slap where the thumb hits the string and is released immediately to let the fretted tone ring, there is another widespread slap technique where the thumb or fingers hit the string(s) and stay there to create a percussive sound resembling a snare drum). So what would be desirable was an opportunity to have a normal bass instrument, e.g. E-Bass, and assign a slap (ringing or percussive) or pop to single notes, such assignment being selectable from some pallette, just like palm mute with a guitar. Can I implement that by any chance?
