Problem with converting groups of eighth notes into triplets
I scanned some sheet music with the app "Noten Scanner". This app converts input from the camera into a music xml file, it works pretty well. When I open the resulting music xml file in musescore some triplets are showing as simple eighth notes and I would like to group them properly as triplets again. How do I do that? I haven't found a way to for example simply select three eighth notes and tell the program: "make these into a triplet"

There's no way in MuseScore to convert non-tuplets to tuplets, other than to rewrite them from scratch

Well, the eighth notes are in a way triptlets (or rather a third of a triplet) in the sense that if they were real eighths they would not fit in the bar/measure. But I was already afraid that there was no easy solution. So I guess I will just have to rewrite all of those.

They are what MuseScore calls them, check the status bar with having one selected

Sorry, can you elaborate a bit? I don't really get it.

MuseScore (actually your scanner/MusicXML converter) sees them as 8th, not as triplet 8th.
And the measure is probably longer than what the time signature calls for, shown by a little + above the measure

I see. So the only way then really is to input them manually

Or to get the scanner app to recognize them properly 😉

Yup. Anyway, thanks for the help
