Dyanmic markings going through bar lines when connected to cresc.
When I add a dynamic marking while a crescendo or decrescendo is selected, the dynamic marking goes through the bar line.

So don't select dynamics. Select a range of notes, instead.

What do you mean?
It seems to me that both MS3 and MS4 try to avoid placing dynamics over barlines. There is even an "Avoid barlines" setting in the MS4 Properties panel for a dynamic marking:
But that "Avoid barlines" setting is overridden if you turn off Autoplace for the dynamic, and that may be what happened in your case? The remedy is to add a rectangular frame to the dynamic, and set Border colour and Fill colour to white. The option to add a frame to the dynamic is not shown until you click "Show more" on the Properties panel. This is how the dynamic appears with a white frame:

I placed the dynamic with the crescendo selected making the crescendo and the dynamic one element

Indeed, set dynamics first and place hairpins between them.
