Help with editor
I am using Musescore for the first time and don't know how to eliminate the rest. I have provided a screenshot and highlighted that part in yellow. Please let me know how to eliminatethis because I need to submit it to my teacher.

Don't think of deleting anything. When you set up the score, you had the option to create a pickup bar.
Now select the first measure. Right click and select "measure properties". change "Actual" to 2/4. Then Apply. you might have to re-enter the first two notes.

There's a much easier way to do this when the notes are already entered. Selecting the rest and pressing Ctrl+Del will do it.

Not in this case.
If you reduce the length of the measure, the measure is shortened from the right-hand side.
But as already mentioned: Ctrl+Del also deletes the half pause and it is faster.
Select the rest and press Ctrl+Del.
It's also possible to set up this shorter bar when when creating a new score, by selecting "Anacrusis" under the "Bars" option in the New Score dialog, and making it 2/4 instead of 4/4.
