Playback not working properly in repeats with volta
Hello, so I was composing when I decided to put voltas into the ending bars of a repeat, but when I pressed play to hear what I had just composed, the sound disappeared halfway. I tried removing the voltas, and it worked like normal, so I figured it was just a one-off thing. But when I put back the voltas, the second volta did not play at all.
Now, my computer is fairly old, and doesn't run Muse Sounds well. Perhaps it could just be my computer, but I just had to make sure it isn't just me. My computer runs Windows 10, and my copy of Musescore 4 is the latest version as of time of writing.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Huh. Then maybe it is just my computer? I don't know though, it may be affecting some other users. I'll have to update on this incase something new happens, which --- the volta played, but a bar late, and when I deleted and added the volta, it magically played normally again. I can't show exactly as I can't get it to bug again, will have to update later
Edit: I have managed to get video of the bug.

Edit 2: The bug keeps disappearing and reappearing, but this has gotten so benign i think it's best to just ignore it for now. Thanks for your help, though

It has happened to me that the first ending will not play. If you have this problem, just put a second ending there and change the text and repeat list.
I'm looking for help with the same issue. When there are voltas, the playback skips those sections. Removing the voltas allows complete playback.
I tested out Bluecord's score and the voltas played fine.
Any ideas?
I am having a slightly different problem with Repeats involving Voltas. The program ignores the "Play Count" Property of the first Volta. In the attached score, I want the un-numbered bar at the beginning (the "Pickup") to play once; then I want bars 1 through 8 to play three times (verses 1-3). For verse four I want bars 1-7 then skip bar 8 and go to bar 9. I have set the Play Count value of Bar eight to 4 (one more than the desired number of repeats; per the manual). I have "Play Repeats" checked in the toolbar under the Gear icon. But when I play the score it plays bars 1-8 just one time, then plays bars 1-7 and jumps to the second Volta. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

See if this is what you want:
2-8BB Int 05 (Map of the Road).mscz
Click on each volta and look in the Properties panel to see how the 'Repeat list' is specified.
For instance, a 'Repeat list' displaying "1,2,3" indicates that volta is to be played during repeats 1. 2. 3.

Thanks!!! That did the trick. Can I do the same thing by adding visible text under the Volta itself on the score, so the musician can see what's expected? Or, to put it differently, why don't the numbers from the play list under the Properties tab automatically populate on the score itself?

Never mind. I discovered how to do it: On the same drop-down on the Properties tab, to the right of setting the number and location of the plays, there's a "Text" option. I add the text there. Terrific!!

Yes, the "Text" option is for what you want printed under the volta line in the score. It's what the musician sees.
The comma delineated 'Repeat list" is the instruction for MuseScore's playback engine.
