Muse Sounds still sounds terrible after system upgrade. MS Basic ain't that hot either.
Muse Sounds: inconsistent volume from wind instruments. First note sounds like a twang from a string instrument. p and pp sound very loud.
MS Basic: More consistent volume but sounds scratchy during a decrescendo or crescendo. A step down from Musescore 3 basic soundfont.
What a pity.
My system is Intel I9-14900K, 192Gb RAM, Soundblaster AE7, laser and particle cannons, etc
EDIT: The default bitrate on my soundcard was 48000, 24 bit. Turned it down to 44100. MS Basic oboe and Bb clarinet sound smoother without too much scratchiness, but Muse Sounds oboe and clarinet still come in with a loud twang. My workaround will therefore be to just keep using MS Basic for now until I can get some decent instruments up in there.

Could you post a short score and an mp3 of it so that I can try it on my system?

You could just zip an mp3 and post it here.

I couldn't access you google drive.
No argument from me.
Just some reality. I noticed that if I changed the clarinet to Muse Eb clarinet, then that first note was fine. However, two notes later wasn't.
I made a little test score with oboe, clarinet, horn and trumpet. At the same pp dynamic marking, horn seemed the loudest.
There are plenty of problems that are being worked on. As far as I know. In my work, Basic sounds aren't an option. They may be more consistent, but they are too dull.

Indeed. It has a long way to go before it's ready for primetime, and by that time they might be charging for the thing.

That's also why I still use Musescore 3.6.2. For all its faults, the soundfont is hard to beat fer free.

And I was never so happy as to leave MU3 (mainly because of its sound font) behind. Dull and un-musical. If I wanted that, I'd write for music box. I don't do transcription. MU3 is fine for that.

Music Box XD

Is there a specific note I should be listening to in order to hear a problem? Your score plays beautifully for me - much better with Muse Sounds than MS Basic, of course, but even MS Basic sounds normal (no worse than 3.6.2). But maybe I didn't listen closely enough to the specific notes you are having trouble with?
To be clear, MS Basic is the MU3 soundfont, just renamed.

Please have a look these examples and you'll see what I mean, as described above.

Can you just explain in words which note to listen for? Having to download and open a ZIp file is way more more than just reading a sentence or two.

These refer to the uploaded examples. You must use headphones to hear it properly.
