MDL instruments for MU4?
I've loaded MDL into Sforzando so I can use it in MU4--but there's no percussion instrument with the correct mapping. Is there any way to make a custom instrument for this? Or am I not correct that there is no marching snare line instrument for MU4?

If you use a nightly 4.4, there is marching snare, tenor, base and cymbals.
I don’t know if they are useful or not but probably worth trying. They do have the high pitched marching-style drum tuning.
I don’t have 4.3 installed so I don’t know if it is in there or not.

4.3 does not—it does have marching snare, though. Not marching snares.

Oh, 4.4 is snare not snares, I think.
Aren't there .drm files in the download?

I don’t know how the .drm files work. It’s just in the instrument selection if “marching” is entered in 4.4.
I think it is also available in a drum set or drum kit category, with many other “sets”.
I rushed through it so I don’t remember the details.
The marching drum sounds seem to be of the correct “style”. If not in 4.3.2, I recommend downloading 4.4 in order to see if it works correctly.
Late tomorrow I can unpack my appimage and see if there are .drm files there.

I mean the .drm from the MDL extension (the one for MS3), not the .drm in the appimage (which are under share/msportable-xxx/templates/ in the appimage)
Those .drm files are mapped correctly for the sfz files from the MDL extention. If you have the MDL sfz instruments, then you also have the corresponding .drm files.
The new percussion stuff in 4.4 is still in development. I would not rely on it this will stay as-is.

Thanks! I’ll try that. Still, it wouldn’t add new instruments, but I can get a preexisting one and apply the file. :D
